  • This guide prefers cheap, clean printings with local snapshot prices, focusing on cards that maximize Ulalek's triggers and spawn large Eldrazi quickly.
  • The goal is not to change the five-color devoid land base, but to replace slow card-draw spells and low-impact colored removal with dedicated colorless accelerators.
  • If you want to buy every card below, start by cutting the slow 6-mana rocks and clunky devoid creatures that do not help you chain spells.

Easy cuts before you shop

If you want the under-$75 bundle to slot in cleanly, start with the lowest-impact cards and lands that slow down your Ulalek turns.

  • Six mana to cast is simply too slow for a ramp spell, even in an Eldrazi deck. Conduit of Ruin does far more work at this mana cost.

  • Sifter of Skulls β†’Creature β€” Eldrazi

Provides Eldrazi Scions but is too reactive. We prefer proactive cost reduction and rocks that tap for multiple mana on your turn.

  • Good in dedicated counter decks, but clunky in a multi-color Eldrazi build compared to Thran Dynamo.

  • Crib Swap β†’Kindred Instant β€” Shapeshifter

A cheap devoid removal, but leaving a 1/1 token behind is weak. Echoes of Eternity is a massive build-around that wins games.

  • Ulamog's Nullifier β†’Creature β€” Eldrazi Processor

The counterspell requires cards in your opponents' exile zones, making it too conditional in typical Commander pods.

  • Ulamog's Crusher β†’Creature β€” Eldrazi

An iconic budget card, but Kozilek provides game-winning card draw and counter protection for a similar mana cost.

  • Deepfathom Skulker β†’Creature β€” Eldrazi

Draws cards when creatures deal combat damage, but we have better draw spells and Kozilek to draw on cast.

  • Twins of Discord β†’Creature β€” Eldrazi

Provides a temporary combat block, but Bane of Bala Ged forces immediate exiling of permanents and closes games faster.
