Precon upgrade guide β€’ Quick Draw

Quick Draw upgrades under $25

Quick Draw already gives Stella Lee, Wild Card a strong shell. The first $25 should buy cleaner setup spells, more meaningful spell payoffs, and a few cheap finishers instead of one flashy luxury card.

  • This guide prefers cheap English printings with local snapshot prices when possible, then falls back to the local card index if a direct market snapshot is missing.
  • The goal is not to rebuild Quick Draw from scratch. It is to make Stella Lee hit smoother three-spell turns and turn those turns into real pressure.
  • If you want every card below, start by cutting the low-impact setup cards and one or two clunky lands before trimming the rest of the top end.

Turn this guide into your Quick Draw checklist

This page cross-checks the curated upgrade package against the collection saved in this browser, so you can sort owned cards from missing pickups before you click out to shop.

Local-first note: owned and missing status comes from the collection stored in this browser, so use the same device for brewing and shopping if you want the checklist to stay in sync.

Cheap Stella enablers

These are the first upgrades to buy because they make Stella Lee's tap-copy turns happen more often. The focus is cheap cantrips, untaps, and one efficient cost reducer.

Easy cuts before you shop

If you want the under-$25 bundle to slot in cleanly, start with the lowest-impact cards and lands that slow down your Stella turns.

  • Pteramander β†’Creature β€” Salamander Drake

It reads like a cheap spell deck card, but it does not actually help you cast the second and third spell in the key turn.

  • Four mana draw is clunky here, and the proliferate text is mostly blank in the stock Quick Draw shell.

  • The artifact is slow value in a deck that would rather spend mana double-spelling and protecting Stella.

  • It is flavorful but too slow compared with cheaper engines that reward each spell immediately.

  • Smoldering Stagecoach β†’Artifact β€” Vehicle

The vehicle slot is easier to replace with a permanent that pays you off for casting spells instead of attacking.

  • Quick Draw wants smooth early turns more than it wants a risky land that sometimes does not cast your setup pieces.

  • Tapped lands are one of the easiest ways for Stella to miss the turn where she is supposed to double-spell and take over.

  • It can be explosive, but the deck usually wants recursion or copying to make the same mana investment go further.
